Sheriff Reggie Marinelli is the 28th Sheriff of Jefferson County and the first female sheriff in the county's history.

Red Flag Warnings are issued by the National Weather Service (not the Sheriff's Office). Whenever the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag Warning for all or part of Jefferson County, Stage 1 fire restrictions are automatically in effect for all of unincorporated Jefferson County until 11:59 p.m. on the last day the warning is in effect. IMPORTANT: Jefferson County, Colorado offers a FREE wildfire home risk assessment, the Detailed Home Assessment, to property owners countywide. It is run by the Wildland Fire Management Program of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. It costs nothing, takes about 1.5 hours on site, and produces a private online report listing the home's vulnerabilities and prioritized home hardening and defensible space steps.
