Two People Found Dead Along Roadside

Jefferson County, CO. — JCSO deputies responded to a call of two people who appeared to be deceased inside a vehicle along Hwy 103 at mile-marker 30 near the Jefferson/Clear Creek County line. A passerby noticed a blue Toyota Rav4 had been parked there for at least two days and he stopped to check on it yesterday (March 31, 2026). Once the passerby looked inside, he called 911.

The two occupants of the SUV have been identified as 47-year-old Joshua Young and 45-year-old Corinne Wallen from Missouri. They both appear to have died from gunshot wounds to the head, and a gun was found in the vehicle. There were also several notes written by the couple on the dashboard. At no time was there a threat to the public. Flock hits show they had been traveling across the country and had no known connections to the area.

The coroner’s office is conducting the autopsies and will make the final determination on the cause of death.
