Colorado LifeTrak

A rapid-response tracking program for individuals with Alzheimer's, Down syndrome, autism, and related conditions.

Colorado LifeTrak is a rapid-response program in which the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is participating. The project is a partnership between law enforcement and the families of those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and conditions, such as Down syndrome and autism.

What the Program Offers

Radio Tracking Technology

A dependable radio technology that provides tracking through a wristband worn by the participant.

Dedicated Rescue Teams

Rescue teams from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office respond with specialized mobile locator tracking systems.

Reduced Search Times

Search times are reduced from hours and days to minutes, dramatically improving outcomes for missing individuals.

A proven lifesaving system that is reliable, responsive, practical, and affordable.

How Colorado LifeTrak Works

  1. A family member or caregiver of an Alzheimer's or autistic patient contacts the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to enroll in Colorado LifeTrak.
  2. Participants wear a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal 24 hours a day, seven days a week, over several miles.
  3. Caregivers notify the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office when a participant is missing.
  4. A search and rescue team responds to the call and uses a mobile locator tracking system to find the participant.
