This process is pursuant to HB24-1174 and applies only to concealed handgun permit instructors. For information regarding SB25-003 firearms safety course instructors, please visit Colorado Parks and Wildlife: https://cpw.state.co.us/specified-semiautomatic-firearms. Please note that instructors listed through the HB24-1174 process may or may not be verified to teach SB25-003 firearms safety courses.

Instructor Verification Requirements
Per C.R.S. § 18-12-202.7
Instructors seeking verification with Jefferson County must submit an online application and upload the following documentation:
- Valid Colorado driver's license or ID
- Current Colorado concealed handgun permit
- Proof of instructor certification from an approved organization per C.R.S. § 18-12-202.7(2)(b)
- Course curriculum for concealed handgun training classes
- Course curriculum for renewal refresher classes (if offered)
- "Instructor certification of compliance with Statutory Instruction Requirements" form
- Copies of training certificates that will be issued
New application fee: $100.00
Renewal fee: $50.00
Instructor verification standards are established by House Bill 24-1174.
Pursuant to C.R.S. 18-12-202.7(4)(a), a sheriff shall revoke a verification if the verified instructor ceases to meet the requirements.
