Sheriff's Explorer Program

A year-round program for high school and college students ages 14 to 20. Train with deputies, volunteer in the community, and find out if a law enforcement career is right for you.

A real look at law enforcement

The Sheriff's Explorer Program, Post #99, gives young adults a firsthand look at a career in law enforcement. Explorers train with Jefferson County deputies in academy-style sessions and practice many of the same skills our recruits learn.

The program runs year-round. Explorers volunteer at community events, travel to conferences, and compete against other Explorer posts from across Colorado.
